A collective Rose is part of, East Finchley Open Artists, are celebrating 20 years of activity as an artist collective in North London with an exhibition.

McAllister Thomas Fine Art presents a Solo Exhibition of paintings on silk and antique furniture by British artist Rose Fulbright.

In this body of work, Rose explores her experiences of The Sublime in nature.

Fulbright works with the most unifying element of our human experience, the shifting sky above, naming the collection Light and Water for the elements on which life depends.

Focussing on the wonderful, intense drama going on in the sky, the works ask whether we take full advantage, think about or look up often enough…

Following Rose’s residency at Portmeirion, her work will form part of a showcase on the theme of Transformation at The Dome in Portmeirion Village.

What is it that makes us feel human, to feel our humanity, to embody a self?

SALT of the Earth- the grounding element of purity, safety, the taste, the tears, the moodtides and sanctity. Salt, without which we cannot live, with too much it will kill. Salt, a moody temperament, a measure of a man’s worth.

STARS- the elements of the heavens, the unknown, the knowledge of promise, of fear and of mystery. How they lead us in the dark inky night and foretell our fragile existence as though we need to make sense of ourselves by looking skyward into a vast chasm for answers to life's mysteries.
